M.O.M. (Ministry of Movers)

Moves for those in need — referred by nonprofit partners.

What M.O.M. is all about?

What is M.O.M.?

M.O.M. (Ministry of Movers) is a structured outreach program built for one purpose: helping nonprofit organizations relocate clients who cannot afford to move.

Moving is expensive—and for someone already facing hardship, it can become the barrier that keeps them stuck. M.O.M. steps in to remove that burden by providing heavily discounted or fully sponsored moving labor, depending on availability and funding.

This program is designed to stay sustainable and protected, which is why M.O.M. is only available through nonprofit referral.

Nonprofits Only (By Referral)

To keep M.O.M. protected and sustainable, all moves must be requested and verified through a nonprofit organization.

All M.O.M. moves must be:

  • Referred by a nonprofit organization
  • Verified by that organization
  • Coordinated through a nonprofit point of contact

If your organization serves clients in crisis, housing transitions, recovery programs, re-entry support, domestic safety transitions, disability support, or extreme financial hardship, M.O.M. may be a fit.

Nonprofit Partner Eligibility

To qualify as a M.O.M. partner organization, you must be a legitimate nonprofit (or nonprofit-equivalent organization) and agree to the following:

Your organization must:

Verify the client’s hardship/need (financial hardship, crisis transition, safety relocation, etc.)

  • Provide a staff member or case worker as the primary contact
  • Help ensure the client is prepared and ready on move day (packed if required, access arranged, etc.)
  • Communicate expectations clearly to the client (time windows, what is/isn’t included)

M.O.M. generally does NOT cover:

  • Large multi-story house moves / high-volume moves
  • Long-distance interstate relocations (unless specifically approved)
  • Moves requiring specialty handling (pianos, hot tubs, gun safes, etc.)
  • Storage cleanouts, hoarding situations, or trash removal
  • Moves where access is unsafe, illegal, or uncoordinated

Approval is based on:

  • Verified need
  • Move size + complexity
  • Distance + time required
  • Crew/truck availability
  • Current sponsorship capacity

What kinds of moves can M.O.M. support?

All referrals are reviewed case-by-case based on need, schedule, and resources.

Depending on schedule and resources, M.O.M. referrals may include:

  • Local apartment/home moves within our service area
  • Shelter-to-housing transitions
  • Emergency relocations (case-by-case)
  • Basic furniture moves (light packing / loading / unloading as needed)
  • Simple disassembly/reassembly when needed (bed frames, basic furniture)

Note: M.O.M. is not a guaranteed service. Every request is reviewed based on need, move scope, scheduling, and available capacity.
